What stood out to me was that he said that war will go on until we learn to cooperate. I was surprised that he said that war is "the balance of societies fighting to exist in the human race."
2. In your article, what does the author say about war? Give me some reasons why he/she stated countries fight wars. What does the author believe about why wars happen? Give detail to support your answers.
The author says that war is a struggle to survive and that it is part of our survival instinct. Some reasons he said people fight wars: to get something, as a way to survive. Because people are people: they are greedy and want to survive.
3. What is your opinion of what the author stated as reasons countries go to war? What do you agree/disagree with? Give me at least 2 reasons that you believe countries go to war? Why do you think this is true?
I agree that war will not stop until we learn to cooperate. I don't really disagree with anything he said. I believe that countries go to war to get something or to protect something they have. I think that this is true becasue most wars are started because someone wants something: land, oil, freedom, etc.
4. Why is it important to be able to compromise? Give me a time when you had to make a compromise with someone? What happened? Why did it happen? What was the compromise? Did you feel like it was a win-win compromise? If not, why?
It is important to be able to compromise because a lot of wars could have been prevented by compromise. When we ride in my dad's car, either me or my brother has to ride in the cramped back seat. We go every other time. This time I get front, next time he does. I think it is a win-win compromise because we both get the front about half the time.

Why do you think that countries go to war with each other?

I think that countries go to war with each other because they want something. Sometimes it is oil, land, or independence.

Give me a time when you had a conflict with someone. What happened? Why did it happen? How did you resolve it? What is your relationship like now?

One time i was got into a fight with my brother over the lyrics of a song. We fought about it for a while. We resolved it by checking the song online. We still love each other! :)
